The following sites may be helpful to you and your students


During October, seniors should continue to prepare for college entrance exams. Also, seniors should be performing their college search if they have not already decided which colleges they want want to apply to.

College entrance exam preparation

  • ACT
    Students register online for the ACT at this site and gain other helpful information regarding the ACT.

  • College Board
    Students register online for the SAT. This site also provides a "Test Question for the Day," which can help students review for the SAT.

  • The Princeton Review
    This site, provided by the Princeton Review test preparation organization, has an interesting feature that you may want to tell students about. Students can sign up to have a "Word du Jour" emailed to them each day! This is a nice way to improve their vocabulary.

    At this site students may complete free practice tests.

  • GoCollege
    Another site that has a section called "test yourself" that provides free practice tests. This is a service of GoCollege and Cliff's.

The following sites offer students the opportunity to search colleges using a variety of criteria (e.g., location, major, size). Several of the sites allow students to save their searches and to build college comparison worksheets.

  • National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC)
    The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is an organization of 9,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education.
