Checklist

The September checklist gives you some things to think about as you prepare for another great fall.

  • Advertise the AIE College Admissions Testing Schedule (www.aie.org/planning-for-college/going-to-college/schedule-college-admissions-testing.cfm), including college entrance exam test dates and registration deadlines.
  • Advertise special events held on college campuses (such as preview days) for juniors.
  • Direct students to the National Common Application (www.commonapp.org) and to any common application your state may have.
  • Conduct a parent night to provide parents with critical information regarding the college search process.
  • Continue to post information on the FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov). Encourage seniors and parents to apply for a PIN as soon as possible.
  • Conduct senior conferences based on information obtained from the Senior Information Form (www.AIE.org/handouts/SeniorInformationForm.pdf).
  • Post the dates college representative will visit your campus. Encourage juniors to attend.
  • Continue to post scholarships. Remind seniors of the many opportunities at this time of the year for local scholarships. Have your students search for scholarships using AIE's Scholarship Search (www.AIE.org/Scholarships).
