Texas B-On-Time Loan GPA Calculator
Find Out What Grades You Need to Make to Remain Eligible and Qualify for Forgiveness
The Texas B-On-Time Loan Program offers zero-interest loans to qualifying college students from Texas high schools. The loan is a good deal, but it's important to maintain GPA and progress-to-degree requirements in order to remain eligible — and to qualify for forgiveness after you graduate. Among other requirements, a student must:
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA in order to qualify for the loan in subsequent years
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to qualify for forgiveness
- Finish a certificate or degree on time in order to qualify for forgiveness
If you are a BOT loan borrower, this calculator is intended to help you determine how many course hours you should take per semester, and the GPA you may need to achieve in your remaining courses in order to qualify for renewal or apply for loan forgiveness after you graduate.

This calculator is based on the B-On-Time loan eligibility and forgiveness requirements outlined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Learn more about The B-On-Time-Loan-Program.
*This calculator considers an academic year to be a two-semester-per-calendar-year school program, and does not break out summer terms separately. However, all credit hours attempted, regardless of the term in which they are attempted (fall, spring or summer), are included when calculating your percentage of credit hours completed, total-credit-hours-earned and GPA for the purpose of BOT renewal and forgiveness eligibility.
