Chicago Sun-Times Minority Scholarship

Applicant must be a minority college student having graduated from a Chicago-area high school or have been a Chicago-area resident for the past five years. Applicant must submit a college transcript, resume including name, social security number, home and school phone numbers, major, minor, extracurricular activities and honors, past and current employment, college, high school, and year of graduation, two letters of recommendation from adults familiar with journalism skills and interests, a 500-word essay explaining interest in becoming a newspaper reporter, editor, or photographer, and may also submit non-returnable samples of writing, editing, or photography.
