College — It’s not too late!

Still grappling with the decisions of if and where to attend college? Don't fret; it may not be too late to apply for admission or for financial aid.

According to a recent survey by the National Association for College Admission Counseling, many colleges still have space and financial aid available for qualified freshmen and transfer students. The annual Space Availability Survey asks the association's member schools about their ability to accommodate applications after the May 1 deadline. At least 258 schools indicated space available for freshmen; 247 had space for transfer students.

This is refreshing news if you had counted yourself out of the college game for the 2009-2010 school year. Whether starting or continuing your college career, be sure to do your homework on your chosen school, learn all you can about financial aid, and brush up on your financial literacy skills to help you plan for your financial needs while meeting your educational needs.
