Ten Lucky Teens are Awarded by the President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy

High school students from all over the country were awarded last week in Washington, D.C. The National Financial Literacy Challenge Scholarship Awards Banquet was held to honor 10 winning teens who each achieved a perfect score of 100% on the inaugural National Financial Literacy Challenge. This online test of personal finance knowledge provided a challenge for these teens and an opportunity to learn about money management in the early stages of life.

Besides having their undoubtedly thrilling trip to Washington, D.C. completely paid for, the winners will receive a $2,500 college scholarship, and an additional $1,000 contribution will be made in each of their names to the high schools or programs that enabled them to learn about personal finance. The teens who won the awards, and the teachers who enrolled them in the competition, hope to spread the message to others that “learning how to manage your money is cool.”
